Hi Berny! How long until I catch up to your hair progress? Am I far behind? Maybe it's this "teddy bear" stage that makes everyone want to feel my head! I wish I felt as cute as a teddy bear! Definitely not there.
Sadly not cute as in looks like a teddy bear, it just feels like one. Now when I run my fingers through my hair I can see some hair poking up between the fingers. (It’s maybe 1 ½ inches long and it is thinner on the sides as in receding hairline) I certainly wouldn’t be seen in public without it covered yet. My last chemo was June 30 so I guess I am about 3 months ahead of you but it really depends on how quickly your hair grows. Unfortunately mine is growing very slowly and much slower than it did pre-chemo.
Hi Berny! If you're game, please send me a before and after photo of you and your hair. I promise I won't post it on my blog for all the world to see!
After I wash and condition my head/hair, I fluff it dry with a towel. That's when I can best gauge my hair progress because stands up like angel fluff. I run my hand atop the hairs not touching my scalp and it feels like the most delicate and fine of fluffy stuff. Just tickly. But, like you, I will NOT be seen out without a wig yet and probably not for a long while yet. Still, progress is exciting! I hope it goes fast. Today I can see my eyelashes, too. Last week I could feel them but couldn't see them. May they grow quickly, too. And, if there were any justice in this world, they'll come back thick, dark and long even though they weren't so much that before I lost them. I deserve long, dark eyelashes especially since I can tell already that my hair won't be coming back minus the greys. In fact, I see a lot more already than were there before all this nasty business started. RATS!!
My favourite so far. . . Merry Christmas to you and all the family.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your hair is almost to the "teddy bear" stage :o)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, to you and yours, too, Laurel!
