Lucky and Silly

I feel a little sheepish. Delighted. But sheepish. I follow several quilting blogs and often they host giveaways, which I enter. I never win anything. And then suddenly, a few weeks ago, I won one! I showed you the fabric I got with my winnings. And then I won another draw, this time for a yard of this orange circle fabric from the Metro Living line by Robert Kaufman. How lucky is that? I won it from the Sew Mama Sew fabric shop. If you love fabric, take a browse. There are so many interesting and beautiful fabric lines, many that I don't see in the shops here. I think the circle fabric makes a good match with this orchard fabric I got with my previous winnings.

And THEN ... OMG ... I won ANOTHER draw. This weekend I won a jelly roll (a bundle of strips) in a particular fabric line and I'll show it to you when it arrives. That's three lucky wins in a just a few weeks! I guess I should have bought a lottery ticket. Anyway, I feel very lucky and so that I can sleep at night, I will be sending something back in return ... maybe some felted acorns. Or, in a "pay it forward" manner, and if I can make something worth gifting, perhaps I should host my own little blog giveaway. Just for fun.

We had a rather quiet weekend and got several chores done ... like groceries and house cleaning. I baked yesterday. Scones, muffins, and a chocolate cake with cherry sauce. With that in mind, NO, I haven't lost any more weight. But I haven't gained either. I don't know whether or not I should be satisfied with that or not but since it is what it is and at least I'm not gaining, I'll take it as a positive. There is room for improvement ... obviously.

AND ... we got our 2nd pair of 3D glasses and watched our first 3D movie right here in the comfort of our home! We watched Avatar. It was VERY cool! We have a couple more 3D movies to watch - they came with the tv - so I'll look forward to that. I would imagine Kevin and I looked pretty funny sitting in our family room with our 3D glasses on.

Luke, with his Bellarmine Knights, has had two pre-season games and they won both of them. He felt good about his game and about the team's play. For the game in Ohio last Saturday the conditions were awful. They had to shovel the field before they could play and then it was still icy. Next Saturday they play their first regular season game. It's a home game against the University of Detroit Mercy. We'll be following the live stats. In less than 4 weeks, we'll be watching Luke's games LIVE! I can't wait!
