A Lot A Lot A Lot of Sleeping

What did I do all day after getting myself all dolled up? Well, after Kevin and the kids visited, I slept. And then I slept some more. And some more. And some more. In fact, I slept almost all day. Every 2 or 3 hours I would wake up but not usually for any longer than half an hour. It felt like I'd taken something that would have said "may cause drowsiness - do not drive or operate machinery". I finally woke up just after 11:00 and felt somewhat rested and didn't feel so "drugged". I got myself some toast and have been watching tv ... mostly Michael Jackson videos. And now I'm going back to sleep. I don't want to end up with my days and nights switched.

  1. Hey there kiddo!! I sure hope you are soon to be homeward bound! It sounds like things are starting to go the right way. Man, from reading about everything that's been happening to you, you are really a trooper!! I can't wait to see your squiggly hair and the new you wig. You seem to be experiencing every side effect known to chemo, from what I've been reading anyway. I'm hoping to get up there sometime in July for a visit. I will call and give you a warning!! Can't wait to see you.

  2. Hi Cindy!

I'm so ready to go home now! If not today, maybe tomorrow.

Believe me, there are a lot of side-effects listed for the various chemo drugs and, so far, I consider myself LUCKY! This last week was the worst part and I hope to avoid this during the next treatments. I think they'll be giving me some drug that will help my white blood cells rebound quicker.

Do come visit me! Or maybe I'll make it to the lake and we can get together there. I can't wait to get away from the hospital and start adjusting to my new normal.

By the way, when I got my appetite back in the hospital, I was famished, and so I would walk across the hall and make myself toast with ... get this ... CHEEZ WHIZ!! I thought of you everytime!

    Love, Heather

  3. So funny, you know, anytime I make a peanut butter and honey sandwich I think of you. We weren't real creative with our school lunches, were we?

Glad to hear you have your appetite back. And there is nothing like cheez whiz and toast!
